The Corcovado mountain with the statue standing out on its top, is probably the most famous post card of Rio. With an altitude of 710 meters, it serves as pedestal to our most memorable image of Rio . The statue was designed by the french sculptor Paul Landoviski, shipped to Brazil and then assembled by the engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and his team, between 1926 and 1931, when it was inaugurated.
