FAQ – Sobre Surfing e Stand Up Paddling

What is the difference between Stand Up Paddle lesson and a surf lesson?

A surf board is about 5 to 6 feet tall. A SUP (Stand up paddle) board is from 8 to 10 feet. .When you take a surf lesson on a regular surf board, you will learn how to paddle with your hands on a prone position and then stand up on your feet to ride the wave. When you take a lesson on a Stand Up Paddle board you will learn first how to stand up and then how to paddle while you are standing, with the help of a paddle. You will not learn it on waves. Instead, we take you to a lagoon in Barra da Tijuca area near the sea, on the Marapendi Canal, contemplating the view and exercising your muscles a little.. If the customer already has experience in SUP surfing, then we can take him/her for a SUP lesson on waves.

Where do you take me for doing those sports?

We have plenty of choices in Rio, from Copacabana to Grumari, we have over 10 miles of surfable waves and It is up to the instructor to decide where is the best and safest place for doing those.
